Bryan
Van Kirk, D.S.L.E. (Dispatcher/Superintendent/Road Foreman)
Mr. Van Kirk was a road foreman for
the Catskill Mountain Railroad
prior to coming to the M&NJ. Initially hired as a
brakeman/conductor on the M&NJ, he brought the M&NJ Railway from
near shutdown from years of hardship to a fully compliant railroad by
upgrading track and equipment and training personnel to industry safety
standards. He has held other jobs in truck and railway transportation and
maintenance.
Harold Rasmussen,
Train Service.
Mr. Rasmussen
has been with the M&NJ for over 30 years in train service and maintenance
of way. He has been the backbone of the railway.
Marjorie Howells, Train Service.
Dr.
Howells was trained as a conductor on the Catskill Mountain Railroad. She is
currently qualifying in engine service. She is also a practitioner of
Chiropractic medicine.
Paul
"PJ" Hintz, Consultant.
Webmaster and operations support.
Currently
working on
the Catskill
Mountain Railroad, Mr. Hintz is currently
working as a Utility man with Mr. Van Kirk and the M&NJ to maintain FRA
standards and enhance safety and brings his experience in the railroad
business from the CMRR for over 15 years in engine and train service and
railway maintenance on a tourist passenger railroad with Class 1 and 2 Track
(15 to 30 mph). He was instrumental in production and implementation
of the M&NJ Timetable No. 2.
Mr.
Hintz, "PJ", also works locally for
Yellow Transportation a world wide
Fortune 500 LTL transportation company and has 18 years experience as a yard hostler and forklift
operator at the Maybrook yards, formerly a New Haven Hump Yard. He was a local delivery driver
for Roadway Express and boom truck driver at Kingston Lumber for
Herzog's Supply during slow periods at Yellow. He also served 8 years in the U.S. Navy as a
personnelman and safety officer. Mr. Hintz has also volunteered for the
past 13 years as an American Red Cross Safety Services Instructor teaching
lifeguarding, CPR and first aid and safety and assisted in local disaster
relief services in Ulster County. He was a supervisor at the Kingston
Point Park and a water front program manager for a summer scouting program. He is a member of the Ulster County
Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service (RACES) and secretary of the Overlook
Mtn Amateur Radio Club and a past member of the Civil Air Patrol. He
has also served the community as a Emergency Medical Technician for the
Bloomington Fire Co, near Kingston |
